A rock band that does great covers and originals

U-WATT first came into being 08.11.13 but the current line-up have been together since 21.12.14. We are:

Malcolm Birtwell – last surviving founder member, long-time musician and guitar teacher, guitarist and arranger.
Phil Bury McMurdock – ex-pro drummer, long time musician and the real power on the drum throne.
Alixandrea Corvyn – professional voice coach using her wide experience of fronting bands to sing powerfully  for us.
Andy Fizz Bye – long-time musician, very experienced singer and bass guitarist pumps out melodic driving bass.

After a number of false starts with various other musicians we met via online “musicians wanted” adverts and gelled almost immediately both musically and socially. We are all passionate about music, we love to perform and we want to enjoy it as much as we can. We like to play interesting, challenging material well and try to avoid the hackneyed old favourites that have been covered to death. We all like to sing wherever possible, so building in strong backing vocals and harmonies is part of our band ethos too. We also like to have fun and as we get on really well together you will find this comes across in our music too. U-Watt; if you don’t like our music, there’s always the Dansette!
